The Beginnings
It was a period of peace in the galaxy. The Jedi Civil War and the threat of the Sith Triumvirate had ended about 200 years earlier. With the peace in place, the Jedi began to turn more and more inwards: only talking and hosting meetings instead of taking action to help those in trouble. These were Master Kamisama Hi's thoughts. He had been in the Order long enough to see much pain and suffering in the galaxy. Now, seeing the Jedi ignore it more and more every day, he was getting frustrated.
Master Axem Keigoku, former Padawan of Master Kamisama, shared these thoughts. They had long been talking about the issues the Jedi Order was facing. Master Axem and Master Kamisama had refused to play the political game, instead focusing on their work. Thus they knew the Council would not listen to them, yet they knew they had to do something. The Order was no longer what it was supposed to be: the guardians of peace and ambassadors of light.
One day, Master Axem was discussing the issues with his master. There had been major unrest in the Outer Rim, causing great casualties, with no response from the Jedi Order. It was Master Axem who first expressed the thought of leaving the Order, to form a group of Jedi to help those in need. Master Kamisama immediately agreed. He had been considering the same action as his former Padawan for weeks.
After the last, rather turbulent meeting with the Council, the two Jedi Masters simply walked out of the temple altogether. They were never seen in those halls again.
For a few years Master Axem and Master Kamisama worked to form a group fighting the evil and preserving the peace. They were bold enough to call themselves the Jedi Order. They felt the original Order had lost it's way and no longer deserved the name.
It soon became clear to both of the masters that forming a group, not to mention leading it, was quite a bit more difficult than it looked. They never truly prospered and soon they had to admit that more help was necessary. Knowing they could never return to the Jedi temple, they looked outwards. Masters Kamisama and Axem discovered another struggling clan, known for their dedication for saber skills, the Elite Dark Knights.
There were long talks between the leaders of both groups, Masters Kamisama and Axem from *JO* and Masters Dethinc and Saibot from EDK. They both wanted to form an alliance, to work closely together. Even though the Elite Dark Knights were, as the name suggests, attuned to the Dark Side of the Force, Master Axem was intrigued by their skill in battle. He was certain the Jedi Order needed to grow stronger in saber dueling in order to prosper.
The final outcome of the long negotiations was to merge the two clans under one name, the Elite Knights of the Jedi Order. This turned out to be a smart move, as the clan began to roll forwards. What Masters Axem and Kamisama had hoped for in the temple that day seemed to be coming true. There were new members joining from all directions, hoping to learn the Jedi ways and to fight evil.
Unfortunately, the Jedi masters had underestimated the influence of the Dark Side. After a few years of plotting, Dethinc started to gain more and more power in EKJO. Finally, he was able to cast out both Kamisama and Axem, leading EKJO into darkness.
It wasn't long before the Masters' clan totally collapsed. The damage had already been done. Master Kamisama's determination had been shaken and he struggled to carry on. He decided to go into exile for the remainder of his life. The struggle and age had sapped his strength and he was nearing the end.
Master Axem was feeling sad, but he didn't give up. He swore to fight the dark side once again, this time not only with sabers, but also with light, the natural enemy of darkness. In this quest he was joined with another former member of EKJO, Master Elogenis Vogel.
Together they worked for a better clan, to be based on Coruscant, the heart of the Republic. They knew they needed more Jedi to help them. This time they looked for other light Jedi who had left the temple. The Masters soon found Master Humungus Zle. He joined the two in their plan to form a Council to lead the new Jedi Order, their clan. Things seemed to be running smoothly, until Master Elogenis went missing uninformed. Master Axem and Master Humungus were left alone to lead the Order.
At this time Master Axem was training a Padawan, Kinem Zrael. The need for a third Councillor was great, so his training was hurried. In the matter of few weeks, Master Kinem was deemed ready to take his place on the Council. Now, with the first Council in place, the three Masters declared the Jedi Order, *<JO>*, founded. This was Jedi Order year 64, counting from the departure of Master Kamisama and Master Axem from the original Order.
Coruscant was the home of the Jedi Order for 104 years. Over a hundred members walked in their halls during that time, among them many notable Knights and Masters. In earlier times the ways of the Lightsabre had merely been used to fight. Now the Sabre was something more. People would visit the temple to watch the Jedi train with their weaponry. It had become an art, truly. This skill showed the safety of the galaxy in those days. Missions to maintain peace went smoothly. Over the years, the heavenly mood was lost. In the later history we find many reports of 'trouble'. Many Jedi chose not to become one with the Force, but rather search for something else, on a darker path.
Most likely related to exiled Jedi, Coruscant was sacked. This forced the Order to move to Tython with all the other Jedi, but the stay there was short. Recently the Republic called for aid. As before, *<JO>* was the first to respond, preferring action to speeches. The Order, with a small membership, had to find a solution. New members have risen claiming new titles. They are all in our midst, and most have little to do with the Force. Troopers and also Smuggler have joined the cause. The Order will accept help from any who learn and follow it's ideals and code.
The Order currently operates from the center of the Republic, the Coruscant Senate Tower. The Senate in Coruscant has gladly accepted our help and offered us help in return. There is still honor and glory left for the Jedi Order....
