Why does Jesus loves us?
I'm sure we all have thought about this question at one time or another. And our sinful human minds cannot comprehend God's love for us, as the song goes "Amazing love how can it be that Thou my God shouldest die for me". The Bible doesn't say a whole lot about why God loves us, but it tells us that "God is love" 1 John 4:8. The fact that the God of this universe loves and cares for the rebellious human race is probably the greatest mystery of all time. Not only did He create us, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 God tells us in
Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts."
We may not be able to explain or comprehend why the Lord loves us, but we can
believe it! There's another song that says,
"I can't explain or even understand
why you gave your life to save sinful man, but I know it's true because I see it
in myself: Your love endures forever!" Though it may be
difficult to grasp, it's easy to accept:
"God showed how much he loved us by
sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through
him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he
loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." |
