We've just added a new CD to our Station's music library: "Moments With The Savior" performed by Linda McKechnie & the London Festival Orchestra. It's really a great instrumental disc: quite relaxing at times and more "inspiring" at others.
Each song features Linda's remarkable talents on the piano backed up by the incredible sounds of the full orchestra. It makes for a very soothing combination!

10. The Lord's Prayer
"If it had not been the Lord who was on our side," Let Israel now say-- 2 "If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, 3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us; 4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul; 5 Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul."
6 Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
As I read through this, it made me think of my life and what the Lord has done for me. If it had not been for Jesus, what would my life be like? If the Lord wasn't on my side (verse 1), would I even be alive?
If you've read my testimony, then you would agree that the answer would be NO: if the Lord hadn't reached down and bestowed His miraculous power, then I would have died over 6 years ago in that tragic car accident that forever changed my earthly life. As I cotemplated this thought, my heart was filled with praise and thankfulness towards God.
I thought back to that time, and I remembered again how I felt like the "waters" were overwhelming me (verse 4) and I was being pulled down by the great enemy. But the Lord stepped in and pulled my battered soul up from that pit of desparation. but physically and spiritually.
Sometimes it's easy for us to forget just how much the Lord has done for us, and yes, we can get sidetracked and temporarily forget even the huge miracles, such as our life being saved. My prayer today is that God will never let us lose sight of the wonderful things He has performed in our lives.
Maybe you haven't had your life spared in a terrible car crash, but if you've given your heart to Jesus, then you can stand triumphant over any enmeny. Yes, you can say that: "Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth." ( verses 7-8 )
