Not for the retail SWG. Supposedly an emulation of the old SWG is going to be availible soon (YAY!). It will be free.

There is already free servers out there for SWG, I used to play on them. They let you just spawn stuff for your character, there wasen't any battle opportunity yet thought. You just walk around and talk with people with your cool customized char, Free stuff ^^

SWG Emu will be COMPLETELY free.

Master Lei, the server you played on was probably not pre-CU (which is what SWGEmu will be).

so.. when will it be free? I have an old account from the SWG starter pack but haven't gotten any of the expansions and haven't played in over a year.  Will it still be free with the starter kit or do I have to have all the expansions to?

SWG Emu is being made by a group of people, it has nothing to do with SOE or anything, it's basically like Private Servers but itll be Pre-CU and much better.
