Ving's Scrapyard
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:22 AM »
Title says it all, really. Just a scrapyard for my ESO related models! I need to think of something Dwemer soon, complexity is the only way I can win....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting with something simple. This is a sword/dagger/scimitar I made roughly a year and some change ago. It's not exactly based off of anything in ESO, it's just an Elven weapon, really. Elements of Bosmer and Altmer styling can be seen, technically, but that's just because they're all Elven in the end.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is another one of my designs from a year ago. Just an evil looking, very impractical sword. Consider it Daedric, if you want. I just call it The Spine, for some odd reason. I tried to get The One Ring Poem inscribed onto the handle in Daedric, but I couldn't do it without crashing SolidWorks, sadly. And I wouldn't want to CHEAT with bump maps *cough cough*, every detail is solid in my work *cough cough*

Very nice. Really like the detail on the hilt of The Spine! Awesome stuff!

Nice, very... vicious looking. Hope you'll manage to make Dwemer stuff look better than it does in the games, otherwise you won't win, no matter how complex you make them ;)

Great looking swords! The first one could use a bit of "using" though, it's a bit too clean :P

Next up is a quick practice run I did today to make sure I'm not too rusty. This is just a quick sword which I'll eventually base Elaina's sword on, think of it as that first lightsaber I did years ago, which led to the monstrosity which broke the camel's back. Without further ado, here are the renders:

Before you say "Ving, you used to be so good! What happened?!", this is a fully 'functional' sword. All the parts come together the way they should, and it's balanced quite well! It's hard to make a sword look impressive!

And in this case, I prefer my SolidWorks model over the renders:

I admit, I forgot to turn on Perspective View for most of those screenshots, that's why they might look a little strange.

Very nice, and you managed to make something that's clearly Dwemer but looks far better than any Dwemer gear in ESO :P
