Topic: Tabaet's Backup Lightsaber

Tabaet is currently custodian of Tanathy's lightsaber and she's grown used to having a second weapon, so when she returns it she's going to build a new lightsaber.

In all seriousness, I love that design. I'm assuming it's a matter of perspective, but it does look a little stubby (that's why I always do a straight up side view ), but it is an offhand, so even if, it still makes sense. I like the curved hilt, too, not sure how it is with 3DS Max, but if I had to do a curved hilt in SolidWorks... *shudders*, so props for that. My favourite detail has got to be the endcap, though. That thing's beautiful =')

It's 1-handed, and designed to be easily concealed within her robes, so it is shorter than a standard saber hilt.

And yes, I am planning on making more: I still have to do my sorcerer's and warrior's sabers, and Tab is eventually going to have a third, full-size saber so she can use any saber fighting style imaginable (double-bladed, 1-handed, 2-handed, dual wield)

Awesome, hehe. Side on views are generally the best for showing the rough proportions of something, I think. The fancy isometric, trimetric or just straight up random perspective views can be pretty misleading
It's not really what I'd imagine when I think of a one handed saber, but my definition might be a little flawed. Looking at this, and comparing it to my one handed saber design, this is just the perfect size to he held with one hand, and nothing more. Proportionally, the thickness and all is good.
My.... 'one handed sabers' are pretty much lighter, full size sabers, but with only enough space for one and a half hands I guess

That design is like... 2 inches shorter than Ving's 2nd Jedi saber, but then you have the claws and all. So yeah, my definition is flawed, I guess. Also, heads up, prepare for more renders.. tonight ish

Yeah, that's good, but like I said, mine is meant to be concealed, so it is quite a bit shorter than you'd expect: it fits perfectly in the palm of the hand with no extra space, so the heel of the hand is litterally on the rubber section next to the endcap. It's maybe just over half the length of a standard saber hilt, but with a full length blade
