First off, I'd like to point out that this saber was designed IC by Ving to improve just about everything in his old one.
Improvements are:
1. Stock emitter replaced with a heavier, sturdier, phobium-phrik alloy one to allow a more aggressive fighting style
2. 4 additional backup/unlimited-powah diatium cells have been added to extend the time between recharges and allow for a more powerful and volatile blade (he IS a madman, you know)
3. 2 additional focusing lenses have been added to allow for more control over the length and shape of the blade
4. Emitter shroud to protect the user's hands more effectively
5. Buttons/controls are moved around for a more ergonomic setup and to allow for the emitter shroud
6. Magnetic plate has been moved from a position integrated inside the hilt to a raised "platform" with an additional belt clip for backup
7. A thick heavy phobium plate near the bottom attached for additional hilt balance
8. A lot more supports and braces inside the hilt to avoid a repeat of

9. Pommel cap removed to
allow for FOR UNSPECIFIED REASONS10. Some secret mod to give him an
edge....

A m*********ing cortosis blade
It's the cortosis alloy. Anyone who matches me in geekiness will know that cortosis alloy can parry saber blades. Pure cortosis can short circuit saber blades through contact and is lethal to the touch. I'll get one of those too, I think...
