((withdrew)) Application: Orn Farseeker, Jedi Knight
« on: June 24, 2012, 03:19 AM »
1. Character Name (and name of any alternative characters):

Orn Farseeker (Jedi Guardian - Main), Gan Farseeker (Jedi Shadow - Alt), Dav Farseeker (Gunslinger - Alt) Ila Farseeker (Jedi Sage - Alt)

2. Why you wish to join the Jedi Order:

I have, in my time, played many many MMORPGs and have come to realise that it is rarely content/features alone that make a game, it is the enjoyment of the game when played in or with a community or collective.  I currently have a small guild, which has failed to launch as it where, we where a small group of friends from other games, but many grew tired quickly of SWTOR's lack of polish and went elsewhere.  I remained and now seek a medium RP guild, that will accept a casual but dedicated player.  I was searching for a dedicated Jedi guild, one of quality rather than quantity and when I saw that The Jedi Order had transferred to my server, I thought I'd have a look, after reading The Code, and the forums, decided to apply.

3. Time Zone:

GMT (Kent - United Kingdom)

4. Your Class (and advanced class if applicable):

As above, my main is a Jedi Knight Guardian whom is outfitted primarily for Defensive Tanking, but can switch to a Vigilance DPS build if required, he is level capped, and gear with all daily heroic comm. mods and some Columi.

5. Short roleplaying biography of your character (please try not to use the quest storyline of TOR):

A work-in-progress, but a brief character overview

Orn Farseeker, son of Gan and Ila Farseeker, is the latest in a long-line of force sensitive nomads, he is a human male, in his mid-thirties.  He holds the rank of Jedi Knight, and has (as all Farseeker's do) completed his training under his father.  He is as all Farseeker's are, a born explorer never more comfortable than when he is delving into an unexplored region of space, or setting foot on a never-before visited world.  His dealings with many alien races and cultures have left him open-minded and accepting, never quick to judge and patient.  Whilst his training is recognised as completed, he spent little time at the Temple on Tython, but the majority of his youth and formative years with his father and mother, as they roamed the edges of the outer-rim, on Republic sanctioned exploration, or Jedi missions.

All Farseeker's have a strong connection to the Force, they're nomadic nature synergises well with it's ebbs and flows as they are so often guided by it, travelling from one place to the next, in the ancient clan starship Galactic Sentinel.

The wanderings of the Farseeker's came to an end when the Sith re-emerged from they're self imposed exile, the Galactic Sentinel was destroyed in orbit of Coruscant, where it had been tasked to return, and the Farseeker's assigned to more regimented duties, Orn's mother and father to Tython to teach, the Jedi healing arts, and Lightsaber techniques respectively.

---

The above is a very brief, and self critically - I'd have to say poor overview, I will write something far more narrative and deep when I have the time...

I look forward to hearing from you!

Greetings, hopeful Farseeker and welcome to our holonet!

Feel free to browse our forums, a Master will contact you in-game for the invitation to the guild.

Remember that you will enter the Order as a hopeful, not even a padawan, and evaluation period will be in place. Considering it when ultimating your Bio, and explain why have you have to re-start your training. Looking forward to reeding it soon.

For any questions, contact me or any other Master or member of R-team!

Greetings Hopeful Orn and welcome.

One thing I want to make clear: We have just recently made the decision to move to The Progenitor, and things may seem somewhat half-finished. Keep this in mind when you get the invitation to join the in-game guild ;)

Forgive me, from reading your response it seemed as if you are asking me to reconsider my character's allready established and RP'd history - so all new members must RP that they are of a Padawan rank?  I thought perhaps those ranks where internalised guild titles, showing length of membership or rank within the structure.  Or appropriate to the level or experience of the player, If that is the case, I'm afraid I will have to withdraw my application, I can't rewrite or simply ignore the experiences Orn has had, and will not force him (forgive the pun) down a specific road, to suit the structure of a guild.

Can you clarify this please?

:)

In this Order we don't make any difference between the structure of the guild, ranks, Council etc and RP story. In past all members had to even start from young age rp-wise, like Padawans in Star Wars do.

You yourself present your main character in all situations, like I'm Jedi Scalarik in this Order, both in character and out of character.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

I'm sorry it did'nt clarify the situation friend - however, I've just spoken with someone in-game, whom explained it to me.

Thank you all very much for your swift responses, and time, I'm sorry to have wasted it... But I cannot RP something my character is not, i.e an inexperienced young Padawan, I've been there and done that at launch.

I wish you all the best in your new home, and hope that perhaps we can RP in the future should we bump into one another.

I understand you have your policies, and wish I could have been a part of your superb sounding guild.

The Force be with you!

I'm deeply sorry you decided to withdraw your application.

Just one thing I want to clarify: we don't expect you should act as you're an unexperienced padawan. Experienced people come to our Order. We do not accept babies, or anyway, not only. And, no doubt, you have made your way in your life. It's not to be discarded or regarded as unimportant.

That said, you will have many things to learn, because padawans learn things in our Order that are inherent to the Order itself: its history, its way of being, its Code, etc., and such things have to be studied under guidance of a more wise master, because too easily in the past were they interpreted the wrong way. The "Year 174" that you read on the title is the time this Order stands there, and it's not made up.

That's it. May the Force guide you.

Regards,
Elod-hora

P.s. If you will think again about it, a JO year (a month) should pass before you can post a new application.
