I want to remind everyone about a couple of things regarding respect which I haven't noticed as much as I should lately. There hasn't been a problem with lack of respect generally, but I want to reinforce a couple of things before they get lost.
1) When addressing someone of higher rank than yourself, use their Title. If you are the same rank, you don't need to use their title in most situations, but please do in formal settings, such as meetings.
If you are in the middle of combat, for example, you can simply use the title for most higher ranked members. If you are close friends, then it might be ok to just use their name without their Title or even a nickname.
On the forum, you should always use members' ranks if they are a higher rank than yourself. You aren't in such a rush that you can't add a short word like "Knight" or "Master". In many cases, it is respectful to use someone's Title regardless of whether or not they have a higher rank than you do.
2) When entering the game, you should greet all members by their Title and name. I always try to do this when I join, but I don't notice everyone else doing it.
3) When signing off, please say something. Even if there isn't much chat going on, it is still nice to say "goodbye" and "may the Force be with you."
Thank you!
Ekul
