Is there ANYTHING we could do about this? This is beginning resemble something ridiculous. ::)

Reminds me of something I learned at college. Denial of Service attack.
I agree that maybe something should be done. :)

Don't worry about DDOS attack (Direct Denial of Service) attack, it takes hundreds more connections that that to effect a website.

where there are forums, there will be bots, it's a fact of life.
