you should double click launcher if you are on windows vista ~ 7
else you should double click db_manager.jar

please make sure to have the latest Java (1.7)

and what is the error message exactly?

I've got windows 7, tried clicking a bit of everything...

Cannot say what kind of error I get at least until the morning :)

and make sure it is not somewhere like program files
if that is the case you must run as admin
(it tries to create files/folders)
also i just downloaded it and launched on windows 7 works perfectly

I've run it from desktop. No problem, I'll try again now that I know what to tick ;)

Hm... I think putting a small readme in the next build won't be a bad idea.

an important note for using the db manager :
in history entries " relates to " field you must ensure that if these members are also in the member DB that the name is exactly the same (no check is performed to allow you to enter this before that)

Right, I've got version 1.6.0_32 and 1.7.0_05 installed on my Win-7 64bit.

If I keep 1.6 the only one activated, it works with the browser, 1.7 doesn't. Neither appears to be installed nor works for db_manager, according to cmd.

cmd says:

"Java" isn't recognized as internal or external command, executable program or file batch.

UPD: Having 1.6 enabled, I've managed to run db_manager.jar without any problems :)

UPD2: Gave a quick look to the program, seems legit :) In the "New Entry" section, flag "Characte is dead" misses an "r" :P

I really need some sleep.

thats because command is called java not Java :P
and i am surprised 1.6 works because i am using stuff from 1.7 try doing java -version
but if its working no point trying to fix anything :P
