The Holodiscs of Rikochet
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:02 PM »
The Holodisc initiates the requested data and a hologram of Rikochet appears.

Entry 1 – Home-planet Stewjon:

“This is my first entry into this journal. I know we shouldn’t linger on our own past too much as Jedi, but I feel I need to leave something behind should anything happen to me. This is times of War. The future is uncertain, not even my force-sight can discern it.”

There is a long paus.

“Darth Ikoral. Darth Ikoral gave me this scar *touches the scar over his right eye*. Of course, it wasn’t until later, much later that I learned of his name.”

“It happened when I lashed at him in rage as he struck down my mother right in front of me. The tip of his lightsaber slashed across my eye on the backstroke.”

“I was lucky, he must’ve thought he killed me too, because I woke up hours later on a medbay, apparently after several days, my father told me, who was sitting next to the bay when I woke up.”

“”I thought I had lost you both”, he said with tears running down his cheeks. I had never seen him cry, he was after all the retired Commander of the 66th Infantry Battalion and a strict and sturdy man.”

“”Listen, son”, he said to me. “There is nothing left for us here now. The Empire is waging war on the Republic and it has been the duty of our family for generations to answer the Republic in times of need. I am going back to my old battalion, but as for you… There is a Jedi Master here; he claims that you are force sensitive and that you are to become one of his apprentices.””

“Rikochet out.”

Entry 2 – The Eye:

“This is my second entry to this journal. Shortly after I was brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, it was attacked and sacked by the Sith Empire, I’m sure you all know the story.

*Touches his right eye* “My eye hurts. I have lost my natural sight on it, but… I can still see through it, but it is… it is different… it only works sometimes, and sometimes I just see...”

“I met him again. Darth Ikoral was there with Malgus when they attacked the Temple. I and the other younglings were hiding in the archives but he found us. The others were afraid but for some reason, I wasn’t. I could only stare at him. He came over to our hiding spot and prepared to strike us down, he was laughing loudly, until his own gaze met that of my eye. That was the first time I saw through the force. I saw a vision of him dying by my hand. Maybe he saw it too, because he stopped in his path and walked back out.”

“Rikochet out.”

Entry 3: The ****** family:

“This is my third journal entry. I have learned why Ikoral was sent to kill my parents. I did not know much about my family history until I learned of this. My family has for generations supplied the Republic with strong soldiers and commanders and even many Jedi. I must keep my surname a secret to all but those I trust with my life. I do not wish to draw the extra attention. The Empire seeks to extinguish families like mine.”

“It has been a long time now, and as I Jedi I should not linger on my past, but I keep having visions of Ikoral. I know he is still alive. I know he is still a grave threat to the Republic. I am the one who must stop him, not out of revenge, but out of defence of the Republic and the Order. I know it has to be me.”

“The rebuilding of the Order is taking a lot of time. I have yet to be chosen by a Master. I volunteered to help out with the threat of the Flesh Raiders in the meantime. I am one of few combat ready Padawans. I must do my duty.”

“I will not make any more recordings until I have a Master.”

“Rikochet out.”
