Graphics programs

I got bored, downloaded gimp 2.0 for windows and tried it out. Gotta say its def. a harder program to use. Atleast in my opinion, it was harder for me to use.

I ended up starting with this

Played around on it and got a good clip art i could use in the future for a sig or a Avatar but in my little experiment i just couldn't find anything i like about gimp.
I will say though, for free its nice software. Got some features to it that i could use. Nothing any other image editor wouldnt have but it is free.

Neat little clip art i made from the picture above.. added a hood for a little more blend instead of the headless horsemen look i got while messing around :P

What programs does everyone else use? Has anyone else used GIMP before?

GIMP is really good, especially considering it's free. I'm still so used to Photoshop though, I find that no matter how long I go without using it, I can still jump back in and make something tasty in a few minutes.

I know some guys who only stick to the likes of Fireworks and can use it like pros, it's all to do with what you're used to really isn't it? It all depends on what conventions and interfaces you like.

Still, might give GIMP another whirl, especially since my Photoshop is playing up.

I've never taken the time to get good with any sort of image/graphics software. I'm always just like "there's soo many buttons.... but I can't get them to do anything.... *closed*"
