HapSlash, The Void and ArchAngel - This story is really nothing to do with the clan, but it ties into the game and a number of it's members quite a bit. For those unaware; HapSlash is a guy who would make the single most awesome models for JK2 and JA, an example of some of his work would be the Anakin and Obi-Wan Episode 3 models that I'm sure you've seen.
His work was simply amazing, I would go as far to say that his models (and more importantly, his texturing) were better than the game's developers. They were so professional and complete on release, how he was not snatched up a major development studio is far beyond me.
As a fan of his work, and an active member of the game's modding community at this point (2005 I believe), I joined his forum 'HapSlash's Void', to keep an eye on the progress of his work. As time went by I'd contribute more and more to the discussions and even take part in the graphics competitions that they had going on there. It was good fun and a nice place to be apart of.
There were a few JO related characters that ended up going on there. I believe Jorka and Kyjik were on there at some point, but the most controversial of course was probably ArchAngel, or Tiger-something (whatever name he ended up going under in the end, he had about 50 of them), if you don't remember - he's the guy who infiltrated the clan as a Chad Skel-Tohn imposter and was the driving force behind the original leak saga. He was constantly causing trouble and thinking back to it now, he was one hell of a drama queen. Much like the trouble he caused here, he also caused there - and ended up getting banned. In retrospect, I enjoyed the drama he'd cause, I remember that time he gained access to our forum's admin and deleted the boards. It was madness, but it was an important moment in history.
Back to The Void though; being apart of that community, I got to know a number of their members. The strangest thing is that I ended up going to the same univeristy, on the same course, in the same class as one of them without even knowing it, and was the first friend I made there. It wasn't until half-way through the first year did we realise that we were both former members of that great forum. A surreal moment for sure.
The forum definitely fell from grace around the time I started university, or a while before that I'd say. Sadly it looks like it will never start up again, as the heart of the community; HapSlash's brother - 'Infinity Blade', died a few months ago. IB was just as witty and talented as his brother, he would weight Hap's models to be used in the game. A real talent and a real tragedy, I'll miss him.
