Diablo III
« on: September 11, 2011, 06:08 AM »
I'm pretty sure there is a Diablo III topic, but, I couldn't find it.

What do y'all think of the game now that the beta is open? Youtube is full of videos.

I think I'll be playing the Witch Doctor. What about you?

As far as I understand it, the Beta has been out for a while.
Some guys I know in the RPB were asking people for their key to try it.

Rando would know more.

It's by invite only unfortunately, and I didn't get a key. Looking forward to release though, even though it's pushed back to 2012 :(

It will be released May 15th.

I just got off the phone with tech support at battlenet about 90 minutes ago with questions relating to WoW.   But I did ask some about D3.  It will be STRICTLY regional.  So players in Europe and North America will NOT be able to play against eachother like they did in Diablo 2.  Also, those in Asia will not be able to play against those in North America or Europe.

I was told it is because of "legality" reasons as well as the fact that "real money" can be used as certain auction houses to buy items.  So, basically, it will be like WoW for regions.  Even though game play in D3 will be totally FREE except for the real money auction houses and purchase of the game.

IF you are in North America, you should probably be able to play against Latin American, Brazil, Australia & New Zealand, since you can in WoW.

It's looking like the tech I was on the phone with over a month ago didn't know what he was talking about.  Yesterday morning, I was doing some looking and Diablo 3 IS going to be like D2 and WC2, where you can change realms.  Most likely, you will have to create a character in each realm you want to play in.

I had inquired about the regional stuff way back in March, because an RO member in Singapore is considering getting it.  I wanted to try making sure if there was a way he could play with the rest of us that are getting the game.  Like I said before, it looked like he wouldn't, but now it appears to have changed or the tech didn't know what he was talking about.  lol

I know Merd is playing, but haven't seen him.

Nice!

I just picked my gf on D2. TOR didn't work, Diablo worked great! When she's ready, we'll pass to D3 :D
