Next step:Karate!
--------------------------------------

I have a little extra time on my hands and I have decided to take on Karate! :)

As of Tuesday, February 5th at 6:00:00P.M. I will be an official white belt. Good thing for me I have 4 friends in the advanced class, so I'll be receiving training from 3 black belt instructors, 2 of which are my friends *peace sign* Seem's like a little step closer to bringing Star Wars into reality.

I used to do Karate too.

I stopped, because it's REALLY impractical out in the real world. This is why I'm starting Wing Tsun.

Not that Im not completely rivited or anything.... But do we need to have all these 'in the life of Cosh' type threads? Posting about watching Star Trek, having a girlfriend, going to karate... Is it all neccassary? I mean, I understand the point of a forum is to talk and whatnot... But... I don't know, just don't see why you make threads about this stuff... Perhaps make one giant "In the Life of Cosh" thread and post all your life stories and tidbits in there... Save some space and time.

Oh, and since I posted in here I might as well make a relevant post.

I never considered karate for the exact reasons Jedi Vargus and Master Alpha said... Besides, I figured I stood more of a chance of A) going Pro, and B) picking up the ladies playing organized sports (baseball, football, etc). Seemed a more practical use of my time, rather then, as Vargus put it "holding your fist out in front of you for 3 minutes and not gain ANYTHING from it".

17 years Tae Kwan Do, was an instructor for a short while and 8 years Jeet Kun Do.   And yes Grim, martial arts, if taken seriously and not as a game or 'sport' is very beneficial to life and morals and self discipline.  In my years of experience with martial arts, its the closest thing to the 'Force' humans in real life will ever see.

And I got chicks from it to!  See the bully picking on the lil guy in school.  Stand up to him and protect the lil kid.. bully tries to hit.. notice 'tries' to hit and gets tossed to the ground with an arm bar...  Chicks watching, chicks see bully get beat up.. chicks come crawlin.  =)

Besides.. i made okay money when I was asked to train cops and swat in self defense and unarmed tactics a few years ago.  I don't do it anymore.. but it was very good experience.

As for the Cosh thread.. yes.  Stop all the none-sense, heh
