ok lets remember this true fact which has been known for years

if the human race encounters anything not of this world, its an automatic threat, shot down, captured, cut open and experimented with etc

Robert Neville's "assumption they arent rationalised or human like" is an automatic scientific assumption he hasnt bothered to think the male was concerned for the female :|

He came to that conclusion due to the fact that he believed that they showed no human assets, ie. Emotion or contemplation. And it wasn't that he wasn't bothered, don't forget he was dealing with loads of crap.

But tbh you can't break the film down that much, and be picky. For instance, why would they test their first batch of product on LOADS of humans? If this wasn't a film, they'd have EITHER started with animal testing a long time before they thought about testing on humans, OR they would have tested it on very few   patients (I'm not sure if they're allowed to do that here in the UK or over there in the US. In the film, it would have been the UK, because the person who created it was English GO FIGURE!)
