I'm not much of a Simpson's fan, even though I should be, because I love Family guy and that is the imitation version of the Simpsons xD.

Like I said, they are copies of eachother.  Don't believe me?  A weird wife, a fat husband, a daughter, a son, a baby.  The husband regularly goes to a bar and it's always the same one, da de da de da.  Need I say more? oh and btw I'm Luster (aka Lamaenic) I never really introduced myself so this is as good a time as any :)

Whats funny, is their made by the same people i think lol.

You cant compare them, and i dont think their really similar. the baby can talk, as can the dog brian, peter is definately more stupid than homer is, but luois and marge are pretty much the same.

That daughter from family guy, meg, she just gets on my nerves, shes not smart, shes just stupid lol. And chris is just stupid to the point he cant not be stupid lol. Basically, simpsons is the smarter family, might be hard to believe, but they're not really the same people.

However yes they are the same in ways as to how they're characters are set up and so on. Watch a whole season of the simpsons, then a whole season of family guy, and you'll see the difference.

In the future of both movies, Family Guy Chris becomes a Police officer, Meg becomes a man, Stewie becomes a normal adult, and Lowis and Peter become old folks.

In the future of the Simpsons Bart is in a band, Maggie is a normal teen with an attitude (the usual), Lisa is President, and Homer and Marge are old folk too.

This proves the Simpsons are smarter ^^

After season 8, The Simpsons went downhill, however... you still get that gem of an episode every now and then.

The old episodes were extremely witty, hilarious, the characters were characters and celebrities didn't show up every 5 seconds without any need. It seems like everyone wants to be on the Simpsons nowadays.

I do love the show though and I'm going to see the movie in the next few days.

Also, dispite similarities, Family Guy isn't made by the same people as The Simpsons (think Futurama), South Park or King of The Hill. It's probably because the shows are basically sitcoms that they are so similar - as they're bound to have similar a similar plot flow, characteristics and so on. Most of them have parodied each other too, except for King of The Hill, but I'm not a huge fan of that myself.

Comparing them is like comparing Only Fools and Horses to Father Ted, dispite how insanely different they may seem, they're actually quite similar.

And yes i was thinking of futurama being made as the same people as the simpsons, and family guy the same as american dad.
