This is most disappointing. But Nexen, Knight Tomius isn't dead. I saw him alive after you betrayed us.

Got to love how things don't change. Don't you agree, Mene?

I'm sorry, I must be behind. Who or what is a Nexen?

Nexen was a padawan of the order. He joined a few months back. He hid his reason of joining the order, which was to enrich his own RP storyline by getting shunned for being a dark. He hid this well in the beginning.

In the end he had enough of waiting so took action. And then did all that stuff he posted and is no longer apart of the order.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, he signed up because his characters story was lacking in something (likely, based on this thread, originality) and so he hoped that by becoming a Jedi he could then come by a compelling reason to then go Dark Side. When such a reason never materialized naturally he tried to artificially create one... I got this correct?

Apparently, he never met Menelaos. (Please Note: I'm about to go on a bit of a rant here. I apologize for one, but secondly I give fare warning so that readers may skip over my post entirely. Have a good day.)

Had he, he would have come to understand (as I have with time and perspective) that there is nearly no good reason for a Jedi character to go Dark Side. This is why we constantly see the same stories replayed over and over by every person who gets bored with their character and wants to do something irrational to seem interesting.

In fact, when you think about it, it's such a rare thing in the real Star Wars Universe that I would guess only 1 in every 5,000 Padawans actually fell. Maybe significantly less. But, if you were to look at RP clans I guarantee the number falls somewhere closer to 1/75 because, as mentioned before, people get bored. Also, everyone wants to be Anakin.

Well, perhaps not 'everyone' but likely 9/10 who start Jedi and fall Dark Side do so in some attempt to be Anakin Skywalker-ish.

Which is why I say in another thread that I cannot start re-writing my character story until I find a reason to go DS that Menelaos won't immediately gripe at, because if I am to be one of the 1/5000 it had better be for a good reason. If you can't think of a good reason, perhaps the best course of action is a very understated one. Post that you're leaving for personal reasons, change your characters name (or start a new one in TOR) and quietly go about your business.

No need to put on a big show if you're just going to repeat the classics with your own, less interesting take on it.
