----Holo Logs of Master Kam Frel ----
Note: Kam Frel is a fictional Jedi master who in this bio plays no role other than that of a plausible narrative device. If any JO Knight or Master wants to, they can ask me to have themselves substituted as characters.
Log 00: Intro
I have been charged with keeping a watch over this child for a few weeks whilst the Council deliberates what is to be done with him. I have also been asked to run as early as possible a number of psychological evaluations, as well as provide a thorough documentation of the events that lead to the child’s discovery.
Log 01: Background
This incident with the child began when the Jedi Order had received news from republic agents about a possible Imperial activity in an unpopulated region of Ord Mantel. Holo-imaging of the bunker where the activity was detected the Order the initial impression that we were dealing with a Research facility, however implausible that seemed on a Republic controlled planet. The strike team which I led was sent to raid the facility and arrest the trespassers.
Our initial judgment was mistaken. We arrived to find that the bunker’s defenses had engaged the imperial “trespassers” and killed a number of them. The remaining imperials succeeded in opening a magnetically sealed vault, the contents of which we surmise were their original objective, but did not succeed in completing their mission before we had intercepted them. Outnumbered and exhausted, they still refused surrender, and unfortunately we could not capture any of them for questioning.
As you may have guessed, it was also inside that we found the child, who had been awakened by the battle, but fortunately was unharmed in the crossfire.
The boy introduced himself to us as “Uyri Navv”
Log 02: Investigation
The “Vault” also contained a number of stasis pods and life support systems. Some of which had been damaged. The bunker’s security system revealed to us that the magnetic seal had not been broken or tampered with since it had been installed nearly one hundred years prior. This means either Uyri is technically one hundred years old or the computer information is corrupted. The former theory, however strange, remains plausible if the technology we found in the vault remained functional for all those years.
Unfortunately the boy did not know who was responsible for putting him in the vault or how long he was there.
Log 03: Jedi Records
We tried getting more information from Uyri about where he came from. He claims that at one point he had been a Jedi and a Padawan. He provided us with a number of memories of his so-called past life.
According to the records of the Jedi Order, We know with reasonable certainty that a “Uyri Navv” had lived some one hundred years ago, as the apprentice of a Dark Jedi. He was later defeated, captured, and turned to the light. He had been taken as a learner to a Jedi Knight by the name of Cei Vookto but left the order of his own accord prior to completing his training.
It is unknown whether he turned to the dark side again or simply abandoned the force as many failed students do. There are no records of him after this point; therefore the possibility of a second fall is systematically unlikely. Everything else beyond that point is speculative.
Disturbingly, several of the events involving the “real” Uyri were recounted with near-perfect accuracy by this child, despite not having any possible access to official Jedi records. The boy also recalled events later in his life for which no records exist and no verification is possible.
It is still nearly impossible that this child is the same Uyri. We know for a fact that Uyri Navv was taken into the Jedi order at an unusually older age, and left the Order in his late teens.
To distinguish between the two, we have since legally reclassified his name as “Uyrii Naav”.
Log 04: Concerns and Evaluations
A Jedi Archivist also recently extracted a number of images of the real Uyri Navv, and pointed out that Uyrii and Uyri look remarkable similar. It is possible that the two are related by blood, but this does not explain where he attained this information.
Uyrii’s knowledge about Uyri extends to some aspects of Jedi teachings. He can recite the Jedi code and explain its meaning, at a level on par with that of a novice, as well as other basics. However it is clear that Uyri has not had any force training.
The Order is deeply concerned about the source of Uyrii’s information and the confusion it has caused him. He often speaks of Uyri in the first person, even when he acknowledges the real Uyri was over ten years his elder and had been trained in the force to a degree.
Uyrii says he doesn’t know why “He” left the order one hundred years ago. Though he that claims he did not return to the dark side, and instead was hunted and killed by bounty hunters hired by his old Dark Jedi mentor.
Log 05: A Clue
We’ve re-examined the stasis pods and discovered a clue that could help explain Uyrii’s confusion. The life support systems contained image feeds of the real Uyri’s life, including his time in the Jedi Order. Many of them are perceived from the first person, we’re not sure how such recordings could have been made.
We think it possible that if these image feeds had been looping in the decades that Uyrii was in stasis, he might have thought the image feeds were his own memories.
The Order has considered the possibility that Uyri and Uyrii are clones, it is plausible but unlikely. Physical similarity aside, making mentally and physically stable clones of force users has had debatable success.
Perhaps the old Uyri had fathered a child which bore many of his physical features. Or perhaps this Uyrii was a younger brother. Likely we’ll never know.
Log 06: Health / Psychological Evaluation of Uyrii
A medical examination confirmed that Uyrii’s force sensitivity is strong enough to make him a potential Jedi. His health has also improved remarkably since we first found him.
Uyrii is abnormal in other ways, not all of which are bad. He seems remarkably calm, and can communicate with the vocabulary of a much older individual. This may be the result of the image feeds while in stasis.
His calmness, however, seems to border on humorlessness. When children his age tell jokes or amusing stories he can explain verbally what makes the joke funny or the story amusing, but I’ve never seen him laugh. There’s a soft martial demeanor about him, He instinctively refers to me and other Jedi around him as “Sir” or “Master Jedi”.
Fortunately this attitude has not gone so far to make him cold hearted, not yet at least. When I asked him if there’s anything he fears, he had asked me if people who could talk about or witness violence and killing and do so dispassionately were not themselves liable to become killers. I asked him if in the back of his mind he doesn’t still see himself as a Dark Jedi, He hasn’t given me an answer yet, I doubt he knows himself well enough to answer that question.
Log 07: The Old Uyri’s Fate
The republic team working on memory records has managed to find the last image feeds available. By the looks of them, the old Uyri had been tracked down by a group of well- armed men. The final moments of the feed are of him being shot from blaster fire. Presumably, he died in that fight.
The team also found among the contents hidden in the vault a Jedi Robe fit for a young teenager, a Datapad, and a Lightsaber which currently no longer functions. We think these are Uyri’s old possessions, but there is no explanation as to how they got there after Uyri’s death.
There are gaps in the image feeds, either suggesting deliberate tampering or decay. We also don’t know precisely how these image feeds were created in the first place.
It is possible his Dark Jedi mentor had implanted a recording device in him at a much younger age. We still do not know why Uyri left the order; perhaps it was out a fear of falling a second time, or perhaps out of a suspicion that he was inadvertently helping his mentor as a spy. If so, this would explain why the Empire was so eager to access the vault, Uyrii's memories may have contained information on Jedi training useful to those seeking to capture, kill, or corrupt future Padawans.
Log 08: The New Uyrii’s Fate
There are positive signs, as time has passed he is more and more referring to the Old Uyri in the third person. He’s become more open with other people besides me.
Talk has floated around that it would be a good idea for Uyrii to receive formal Jedi training, especially in light of the Threats we have been facing.
In the meanwhile all I can do is watch and wait…
