Ok so this story is long, but ill keep it reall short
On friday May 14the The 501st Legion
http://www.501st.com/ that has been around for many years decided that this day i would be inducted as an Honorary Member.
The Honor of being in a list that includes Mark Hamil, George Lucas, Carrie Fisher, and many great celebrities, cast and crew as well as amazing artist is huge !!! Honorary Member list:
http://www.501st.com/honorary.phpThe process takes over a year to do, and its a complete surprise to the inductee. One member has to put you up and has to gain a required amount of votes to even get things going. Then they have to prove and document you contributions to the SW universe and get a local garrison approval. Once that is all set, you sponsor has to get a plak and name barge made and plan out an even that has to be public and large.
On Friday, 4 stormtroopers came to my table. As i already knew them i was not suspicious. They took some pictures with me and chatted a while. Then one showed me these new hand cuffs he had created and i of course wanted to try em on. Once i did they attacked me an dragged me over to the 501 booth. Again still had no clue. Once their we continued to chat and take pictures. But all of a sudden like 30 more surrounded me and other characters began to appear.
Then it all got quiet and the Leader and Representative (who happened to be my sponsor) Came out of the back and presented me with my plak.
I have not words even a week later to describe the feeling on joy and accomplishment and how much it mean to me to be a part in the eyes of the Legion as a contributor to the star wars universe. It is trully a HUGE honor for these guys to induct a person to the legion as a member who has in their eyes changed the face and added to the legacy of star wars.
Its still surreal to me....
