Map
« on: May 11, 2007, 08:03 AM »
The map I am making in my free time hit an error yesterday when my terrain caused the map to have an error I have asked Darth G masters of all mapping on map-craft, but the best thing he could point me to is my world spawn script wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction?

I used brushes and vertices to create the terrain, because I did not want to import terrain, and where the grass is, it is so small that it wouldnt make sense to even implament a g-rednderd terran.

If you are talking about vertex editing for soups, remember how fickle it can be.  It's very very easy to get errors doing it.  i'm not really sure what to say without more information on what it is, what error, etc.

Aye, the error code can say a lot.

Um, sounds like you tried to use a sun entity in a sky shader and it wasn't correctly coded... and possibly the terrain that is referencing a certain file is pointing to a file that doesn't exist?  That is what I infer from that.

1) What sky shader are you using?  Did you try importing a shader from someone else's map?  Did you try to make a sun entity?  Perhaps if you did, something is wrong with your code or the file paths or something.

2) What did you do to make terrain?

hmm I chopped up a small brush and used the vertex tool to mold it into a ground look,

As far as sky box I used something that was given in the normal pack for some reason I cannot load images from other maps,

and the suns pawn I put at light 300, I havent mapped in over a year so I should prolly delete the skybox, and the sun, and the terrain i made and start off withs omething easier
