The time has (almost) come.... I've lost several nights of sleep because of this thing, but it is done.. The lightsaber design that Ving will gradually switch to... is done. But alas, the rendering isn't even started. I have tons of ideas for thing I'm gonna do, for the fun of it and to show off the detail of the design. It is, after all, my very first complete lightsaber I've ever made, as opposed to just a shell.
I have a sort of 4 step plan for showing it to you guys, so I'm going to reserve the next 3 posts after this to keep it consistent.

First off, I'd like to point out that this saber was designed IC by Ving to improve just about everything in his old one.
Improvements are:
1. Stock emitter replaced with a heavier, sturdier, phobium-phrik alloy one to allow a more aggressive fighting style
2. 4 additional backup/unlimited-powah diatium cells have been added to extend the time between recharges and allow for a more powerful and volatile blade (he IS a madman, you know)
3. 2 additional focusing lenses have been added to allow for more control over the length and shape of the blade
4. Emitter shroud to protect the user's hands more effectively
5. Buttons/controls are moved around for a more ergonomic setup and to allow for the emitter shroud
6. Magnetic plate has been moved from a position integrated inside the hilt to a raised "platform" with an additional belt clip for backup
7. A thick heavy phobium plate near the bottom attached for additional hilt balance
8. A lot more supports and braces inside the hilt to avoid a repeat of REDACTED (future RP story :P )
9. Pommel cap removed to allow for FOR UNSPECIFIED REASONS
10. Some secret mod to give him an edge....

A m*********ing cortosis blade :P
It's the cortosis alloy. Anyone who matches me in geekiness will know that cortosis alloy can parry saber blades. Pure cortosis can short circuit saber blades through contact and is lethal to the touch. I'll get one of those too, I think... >:D

And the blueprints are done. I have.... 3 versions you can see. The small picture you can see below, a slightly larger picture with the first link, and the original size picture with the third link. That's a proper download, the file size was huge for an image (16Mb). Only download that one if you really want to see it - it lets you see every part individually with decent enough quality, all proportional and such. All.... 54 separate models, I think it was.

Alright, another batch of freshly baked renders coming right up! ;)
This set's of the lightsabers Ving used as a Sith. One of them is the original one he took from the Sith he killed, and he had a duplicate made. Lightweight, to make them easier to dual weild, made from the darker Phrik metal. The endcaps have a.... feature. And the area around the switch has 4 slots around the circumference, to let the user to relocate the ignition switch and buttons to any of the 4 slots. Did my best to keep it plain and colourless. So yeah. That's it. I think. It's 3am, sorry for the messy post.

I'm loving the attention to detail. When I first had a look at the photos I thought "hang on, that's a sith saber isn't it?", then I read your description.
Always had a soft-spot for dual-sabers that link to form a staff. :)

And to finish this off, here's the lightsaber that Ving inherited from his mother, if you read his bio you know what I mean. It's about 50 years old, so I made it more bulky than Ving's sleek lightweight hilts. No blade power or length alteration knobs, just a simple on/off switch. Electrum detailing, combined with a lighter coloured metal to create a very Jedi looking saber, in my opinion. A lot of it is beauty over function. It's also an entirely different style from Ving's sabers. It kinda shows how he was more sith than jedi, and stuck with that saber design, instead of anything inspired by his mother's. For the more lore-obsessed members, like myself, this lightsaber is designed with Form V: Shien/ Djem So in mind, hence the vague similarity to Anakin/Vader's sabers. (He was a Form V specialist and his saber was designed to fit that). Ving's more of a... freestyle combatant. Unpredictable and constantly changing.
