I want one, but I want money too.
-
I would rather wait another two years, when they are possibly more widespread, supported and cheaper.
I can still appreciate the amazing quality that a HDTV can provide, I never believe it's a wise thing investing in these things too early.

True. Plus 3D on a little tv screen really sucks. The image can not go past the borders of the screen. IMAX 3D, now thats cool.
-
I've seen it work amazingly on a 52' screen easily. So I don't think that's to much of a problem. Clearly it's different in a cinema but then so is the whole experience 3D or not. Excited to start playing 3D games and Blu Rays.. Not just that, but it's a great tv anyway, 3D will just be a neat feature to add to the fun.

Not interested at all.
3D is overhyped and this phase will soon enough disappear.
Can't think of anything more annoying than trying to watch tv with glasses on all the time.
Then when you consider the ABSURD cost of the glasses and how fragile they actually are, its just not wise.
But as always, there is that group of people who just HAVE to have the new technology and they will be the ones overpaying for it just to have it first.

The thing is those people won't be over paying for it, because the cost of 3D doesn't add that much of a rise on the TV, it's just most of the TV's currently being sold as 3D are quite big sizes and they are high end TV's with an added feature of being 3D. I don't think 3D will die out, and infact believe it will grow in the years to come, especially in the gaming side of things. build quaility and 3D picture quaility will depend on brand and models, each brand also has it's own build and ways of glasses. I so much don't mind glasses being a factor for the quaility and experience you can gain from it, via films, programs or gaming.
Content is just going to grow plus most of these TV's will be able to convert 2D to 3D not as good as orginal 3D but it adds to the experience and gives you the choice. Prices will clearly drop over time as they do with any product, but I don't think they're overpriced at the moment either. People will pay large amounts of money on lots of different things to their tastes, some things are stuff that people buy daily that they don't really need or in some cases are quite bad for you but they still pay money for it, that over a year equals lots of money for things that have disapeared and can no longer be used, you just have to keep buying them daily. I'd prefer pay one sum for something that is always there and gives me entertainment and enjoyment also something that is the future.

3D TV is too much of an inconvenience to be more than just a short novelty, with our current technology. As far as I'm aware of, it's not changed amazingly since it's beginning in 1921. I don't need depth of field when I watch TV. Seems more feasible in games, but only if the mechanics are tailored for it.
-
Some people will like it some won't there are still some who don't see the point in HD, but having it here for the people that do is what matters. and for them it's more entertaining way of watching films and playing games, and really immersive. not for every game and film, but for a good amount. I think 3D now is far better to what I used to experience from it over the years.

erm they have a 3d t.v. that does not require glasses.
much like the Nintendo 3ds does not require them.
I think it has to do with having a second screen over the other that has polorized shutters and all that. so the ''Glasses'' part is part of the tv

agree with you, look at xbox. 1st generation all of them burned up and now they are releasing their 4th or 5th gen console(still xbox360) this year. neat yes, but just another toy as anything else.

http://smurfhappens.com/ ... it's 3D though. Jeez.

Difference being that product was rather rushed and with very few built in features that should of been there from the start as well as some nasty faults. The new one after a fair few verisons now has those features, I think comparing what Microsoft has done with the 360 to these new TV's isn't quite right.

Then compare it to the first gen flat screens that would invert colors when viewed at an angle.
problem was solved though, just like any that will come from 3d T.v.s

Only problem at the moment is a little bit of crosstalk during 3D, but that varies on brand and model, otherwise 3D is pretty sound for sometime untill they can make bigger improvements. I expect there will be little ones but not enough for me to worry about waiting ages to get a 3D TV. Surprisingly so far the demand for 3D TV's seems to be doing quite well, theres still more to be released the one I want comes out end of the month but it's had a fair amount of pre-orders above expected so they're going to try and produce more or extend the release time.

I saw a 3D TV on display for gaming in a store recently, all I have to say is whoah. For driving games anyway, it seems awesome.
-
Is it actually worth it? I'm not buying one now, but are they as good as they make them seem on the ads? haha
-
Each brand varies slightly, also dependent on model. I'm paying a fair bit for mine but its an excellent tv, and 3D to me is well worth it, for what you can get out of it in return.
