My laptop: ATI Radeon X1400 on windows vista.
Installed JA because I might start playing again, but can't start JA because the JA launcher says: Could not load OpenGL subsystem.
I downloaded the latest drivers for the videocard, plus I read on some fora that this videocard is incompatible with JA.
So, who knows of a way to get JA working on my laptop?
-
Did you run it with Windows XP compatibility mode?
-
try downloading latest directx. that Might help
-
*cough* Open GL and Directx are 2 different things.
-
You need to run xp compatibility, then also go into properties and click, run as admin. Some games with vista are blocked due to the new system being a secure one as they were trying to create. so they blocked pretty much everything.. thats why on vista you get the permission pop up for just about anything.
if all else fails i had a buddy that ran vista and xp on their own partition. one for old style games and another to run the newer game using vista's directx10.
well good luck bud.. hope something i said helped or you find a solution.
-
I've had this too... I just installed it on another PC, :D
PS: it as in the game...
-
I had a problem like that today after installing JA on another computer in my house. Although updating the drivers solved it for me, I can't think of a solution for you. I have an Nvidia in that computer and it's running XP so I can imagine that we're coming from two different places here. All I can say is Google the error message you're getting. That's what I did and within minutes I had found a forum which contained the answer. Good luck.

I've seen too many people using Vista at college, I hate it completly.
*opens a program*
YOU WANT TO UNBLOCK PROGRAM!?!??!?!
''Yes''
YOU SURE??
"Yes"
Fo shure?
''Yes''
Sorry the program doesen't run on Vista, buy the new version of Windows and there is a possibility that it will run!

to fix that openGL problem, you need to visit the website of your graphics card and download the update/new pack, opengl thingy. That's what I did.
-
Gooogle for OpenGL, and click on downloads, then dl the latest update and install that :)
