R3-D9 activated its forward leg, extending it to the ground while using its side legs to rock itself forwards. It opened up the energy channels for its motors and powered forward towards the Jedi sitting on the floor. The Jedi looked up, surprised and a bit apprehensive of the droid with bright orange paint.
The converted astromech gave no sound except the whirring of motors inside. It was the only droid ever made that could not speak Binary, yet the temple had never asked for a replacement. The Jedi sat very still as it softly touched the lightsaber injury. R3-D9 extended a small arm with a green emitter at the tip that leaked Bacta fluid. It passed over the wound once, twice, and then faster as it repaired layers of cells. Droid and Jedi gazed at each other in wonder, neither speaking yet both understanding.
