Sermon Title: "Remembering Our Heritage"
History often gets bogged down with dates and figures, but the best part about history is that it's a story. If you look back in to history, you'll find that what has happened to real people is often more incredible than what is put on the movie screen, yet many people today don't know much about history. As Christians, when we forget our history and how God has led us in the past, we are in danger of getting off track for the future.

Key Scriptures:

Deuteronomy 7:6-9 "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments"

1 Corinthians 10:11-13 "Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."
